Hand: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Quote Cross Stitch

If you love Buffy and you know it, clap your hands...

This is one of my favorite quotes from BtVS: season 3 (the season of Faith & the Mayor), the last episode, "Graduation Day, part 2." This was Buffy's description of her shell-shocked state of mind after everything was said and done: "Fire bad. Tree pretty."

A couple of Buffy-loving friends of mine recently moved back to the East Coast, and I thought this would be a fitting housewarming gift for their new apartment. I designed the layout and the tree, and my husband designed the fire (he's surprisingly good at drawing little cross stitch patterns). The font is from Carrie's Creations' Free Patterns Online, alphabet #19.

Detail of the cross stitch, though a little blurry:

I'm really proud of this one, and though a little part of me wishes I could've kept it, I know it's going to have a loving home across the country. They were seriously jubilant when they opened it!

I also shared this at Crochet Me's call for Jossverse crafts, in support of their master plan to get Joss himself to do an interview with them. Check it out!

I like this!! I ran across your blog on craftster!!! your needlework challenge entry is so great. Love the frame you put it in.

Thank you, Brook! The frame was a real find...makes me think of something that would be hanging at Grandma and Grampa Solo's cabin. ;)

I'm waiting to post this BtVS X-stitch at Craftster until after the current contest, but I couldn't help but share it in my blog!

Thank you, Jigsaw Youth! My husband actually designed the shape of the fire for me, so it was a team effort. :)

I don't know if anyone contacted you about this, but we are running a swap on our Buffy Blog and we'd love for you to join. You make 4-6 ornaments for the holidays with a Joss Whedon theme (Buffy, Angel, Doc Horrible, Firefly) and you get 4-6 completely unique ones in return.

Please visit Buffyfest.Blogspot.com if you are interested. We'd love your participation!

Would you mind if I made this for myself and my friend, we're both huge buffy fans and this is simply gorgeous?

Kaykie, I would be super-honored if you stitched this up yourself! I'd love to see the finished product when you're done. :)

I love this. Is the pattern posted anywhere?

Unfortunately, the pattern is not available...yet! I hope to post it someday. Maybe this year. :P
